So, now the first sunday at the new church is past. It’s very cool, but somewhat different from Grace.
First, it’s in the pastor’s house (which is built to accommodate about 50 – 60 people on the top floor). Before church there are so many people in the kitchen, which does not support that many people. Then we sing German “hymns”, some of which are great others i am not sure yet what to think of.
The sermon was good, of course, i got a preview already the night before as we chatted about it. It was about the reason for tongues, mainly from 1 Cor 14:22 … a sign of judgment to the Jews. Interesting. I will think about it some more.
After the sermon we had the Lord’s supper … fresh backed flat bread and wine or juice (for those who want to). There was a lady that put on a head covering … the commemoration was solemn. After that we ended in corporate prayers. It’s very nice (something we are not so used to at Grace).
There was the sunday meal after church, which happens every sunday, almost all stay. Its GREAT. Really makes you feel more like one body. The last people are still here and it’s now 17:32. Of course, there is no evening service. I am not sure what is better … longer fellowship or 2 services on sunday.
The church is now bursting at its seams and so they are building a new church downtown. The first floor is almost done, but i reckon it will be another 5 – 6 months until it’s ready for a service. By providence almost every second guy here works as a builder of sorts. I feel so left out
Great. Now i feel less foreign, but i must admit, i miss Grace and the people … also the way stuff works. Sigh. But i knew what i had to give up.
Grace and peace to you all. Love you much.
in Him.
